Sanjay Thakrar

CFO

As CFO for the LOGiQ3 group of companies, Sanjay is responsible for creating, enabling, preserving and reporting value.

Sanjay is a results-oriented CFO with over 20 years of progressive experience in the financial, management and operational areas of diversified financial services and technology organizations gained from domestic and international work opportunities. 

Most recently, Sanjay has spent 14 years at MFX, a provider of technology services for the Insurance Industry. At MFX, a Fairfax company, Sanjay spent the last 8 years as the SVP & General Manager and prior to that as Director of Finance & Administration.

Before MFX, Sanjay spent three years at GE Capital Key Lease as eBusiness Director and prior to that as Programme Manager. In the preceding three years Sanjay was a Senior and then Principal Consultant at PwC Management Consultants based in London, England but assigned to world-wide work locations for Banking & Insurance sector clients.

Carmela Tedesco

Vice President, Underwriting & Claims

Member of LOGiQ3

Carmela leads the underwriting and claims services for LOGiQ3 and oversees its training of new underwriters, surge resources for production underwriting, underwriting auditing, process and best practice reviews. She has over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry at both the reinsurance and direct insurance level for both the North American and European markets.

Besides Leadership, Carmela’s other passion is company culture. She was responsible for defining and implementing the Corporate Culture for LOGiQand continues to manage and takes the pulse of the organization’s culture.

Prior to LOGiQ3, Carmela served as Chief Underwriter for the European Markets for a major international Reinsurer where she was responsible for establishing underwriting standards, researching market trends, mortality risk assessment, workflow process review and implementation, auditing and was instrumental in product and market development for Life, Critical Illness and Group products.

Carmela previously held the position of Manager of Underwriting and New Business for the second largest life insurer in Canada. In her leadership role, Carmela was responsible for the development, implementation and review of workflow processes, productivity, quality control through internal and reinsurance audits, staff development, training programs, reinsurance negotiations, establishing and monitoring service standards and cost control. One of her major accomplishments included developing and implementing an efficient underwriting process meeting all published service standards.

Brian Wilkinson

Vice President, Business Operations

Member of LOGiQ3

Brian has been involved with numerous administrative and systems projects. He has overseen the implementation of new reinsurance administration platforms, as well as integrating additional blocks of business onto those platforms.

With over 15 years in the reinsurance industry, Brian has also implemented data management systems for use in Retention Management, Audit, Claims, and Valuation.

Prior to LOGiQ3, Brian was Director of Client Services at Sun Life Reinsurance. In his ten years at Sun Life he was accountable for all assumed and retro ceded administration, electronic data processes, administrative audits, and operational reporting.

Brian has been actively involved in the Reinsurance Administration Professionals Association (RAPA), a global committee made up of direct writers, reinsurers and retrocessionaires, and is a past chair of the Data Management Committee. Brian attended the University of Toronto and is an Associate, Reinsurance Administration (ARA).

Andy Hazell

Head of Strategy & Business Development - EMEA

Member of LOGiQ3, Shared Services

Based out of LOGiQ3's UK Office, in his current role as Vice President, Strategy & Business Development, Andy is tasked with growing LOGiQ3's current service offering to the global markets with focus on UK and Europe.

Andy has been in the insurance industry for over 13 years, spending the past three as the Business Insights Manager at Generali International - the specialist expatriate provider to the Generali Group (a Fortune 500 company). Andy was responsible for the establishment of a Business Insights function, and re-engineered UK Pension transfers business.  

Prior to Generali Andy spent 10 years at Skandia (Old Mutual Wealth), working for the UK, Pan-Europe and International businesses in a variety of management roles spanning Product development, Sponsorship and Change Management.

Andy holds an MBA and BEng (Hons) degree from Liverpool University, UK.

Brian Traxler

Senior Vice President, Business Development

Shared Services

In his current role as Senior Vice President, Business Development, Brian is tasked with growing LOGiQ3’s current service offering to the Canadian and US markets for all lines of business across LOGiQ3, TAI and APEXA.

Brian has been in the insurance industry for over 30 years, with experience in the life, health and special risk lines of business.  In addition to business development, he has held leadership roles in pricing, sales and customer service.  Brian spent the past 3 years as the Vice President of Individual Insurance for a major reinsurer in Canada where he developed and implemented strategic initiatives for existing and targeted clients that resulted in 70% growth during that time.

Brian has worked for insurance and reinsurance companies in the U.S. and Canada and is familiar with the markets in both countries.

Brian holds a Bachelors of Mathematics degree at the University of Waterloo and is a member of the Society of Actuaries (ASA), the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA), and the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (ACIA).

Natalie Ho

Vice President, Sales & Marketing

In her current role as Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Natalie is responsible for leading and creating Sales & Marketing strategies and tactics for all lines of business across the LOGiQ3 Group - LOGiQ3, APEXA, TAI, and mL3 global life.

Upon completion of her Honors Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science and Statistics at the University of Toronto in 2005, Natalie joined RI3K Inc. in Toronto. Natalie continued to pursue her career in the life reinsurance industry as part of the LOGiQ3 start-up team where she has taken various roles in actuarial and consulting, but more recently transitioned her business focus to expanding and building LOGiQ3's business through her passion in Sales and Marketing.

She has participated and managed various consulting projects for LOGiQ3 which include Operations and Process Review, Retention Management, System Implementation, Project Management, and Data Analysis.

Natalie held the position of Association Manager at the Canadian Association of Independent Life Brokerage Agencies (CAILBA) for over five years, a national association that is made up of independent MGA's, corporate MGA's and carrier companies. 

Natalie's interest in digital marketing and entrepreneurship has also led her to create her personal lifestyle blog, where she contributes regularly to inspire others to follow their passion and dreams. She has been featured in several notable print and digital media publications, as well as television appearances and speaks regularly on influencer and digital marketing.

Ian Sanderson

Vice President, IT

Member of LOGiQ3, Shared Services

Ian is responsible for ensuring that LOGiQ3 is delivering technology effectively to its clients across all services.

This includes strategy, delivery, security, recoverability and auditability. Prior to LOGiQ3, Ian was the Director of IT at Munich Re. Ian has held similar roles in industries such as professional sports, wholesale distribution, government, banking, and manufacturing over a period of almost 30 years.

Ian studied at a number of institutions including the University of Guelph, and the University of Toronto, focusing on Engineering and Computer Science.

When not working, Ian can always be found with a very broad group of family and friends.

Mitch Ocampo

Mitch Ocampo

Executive Vice President

As EVP, Mitch is focused on product strategy and business development, working with staff and clients to realize the commercial vision of TAI in the marketplace. He is responsible for driving product innovation and ensuring the TAI platform continues to meet the changing needs of clients in the industry.  

Mitch started his career in financial services, designing software for CCBN, a financial data company later acquired by Thomson Reuters. He served as Practice Lead US and Canada for EMC’s Global Services Team, where in 2005 he was first introduced to the reinsurance industry, tasked with developing an underwriting platform for a Bermuda-based reinsurer. He later served as Partner and Managing Director for Kogent Corp, before joining msg global in 2011.  

While at msg global solutions, Mitch served as Managing Director and Head of US Microsoft Delivery, where he held overall responsibility for the business unit. Mitch is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire, and remains active in technology and project management.

Dylan Friedmann

Vice President Client & Partner Experience

As VP Client and Partner Engagement, Dylan is responsible for the client experience; business development, relationship management, training, communications and marketing to all levels of APEXA clients. APEXA clients include Insurance carriers, MGA’s and the broker market.

To her new role, Dylan brings with her over 16 years of progressive experience within insurance services. Dylan has worked both in corporate and distribution roles. As a previous Advisor, Health Insurance Specialist and Sales Manager she specialized in training, development and selection of advisors.  Dylan has worked in both Career Sales force model and in the MGA model and maintains her license in multiple provinces.

Corporately, Dylan was an underwriter and then simultaneously managed both regional and large case underwriting teams. In a business development capacity she has traveled the country educating advisors and partnering with MGAs on specialty market insurance solutions.

As a member of industry associations and groups, Dylan is working on her CFP designation and currently working on a Social Media Certification.  Dylan attended University of Waterloo for Psychology and Legal Studies.

She has a love of sports, is marathon and half marathon runner, enjoys meandering on the golf course and is avid beach volleyball player. Dylan also supports various charities like Habitat, local women & children’s shelters through running fundraising events, clothing drives, and fundraisers through races and sporting events she participates in.
